Namibia Hydrogen Fund Managers

Catalysing Namibia’s Green Hydrogen Sector

Namibia Hydrogen Fund Managers is an infrastructure asset manager headquartered in Windhoek, Namibia.

It manages SDG Namibia One Fund (also known as Climate Investor Three Namibia/ CI3 Namibia) a USD 1 billion target blended finance facility focused on incubating Namibia’s green hydrogen sector and related infrastructure.

Founded in 2023 and licensed by the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority in 2024; Namibia Hydrogen Fund Managers (Pty) Ltd (“Nam-H2 Fund Managers”) is a joint venture between Climate Fund Managers (“CFM”), a climate-focused blended finance investment manager, the Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia (“EIF”), owned by the Government of Namibia, and Invest International, a Dutch development financing institution.

Purpose & Primary Service

Nam-H2 Fund Managers was established to unlock the potential of Namibia’s green hydrogen sector – not only to drive Namibia’s long-term social and economic growth and transition to net zero but also to contribute to the global energy transition.

Green hydrogen, produced using renewable energy, is critical for decarbonising energy systems and hard-to-abate sectors such as steel production, fertilisers, cement, methanol, shipping, and aviation.

With vast expanses of land and some of the world’s best solar and wind resources, Namibia is well positioned to lead in green hydrogen production. In addition to supporting global markets, Namibian green hydrogen can drive the development of local green industries, creating jobs and fostering innovation.

Nam-H2 Fund Managers supports the development of Namibia’s green hydrogen sector across the entire value chain, including its essential supporting infrastructure. Drawing on our extensive expertise in renewable energy projects in emerging markets, we ensure that projects are both investable and scalable. By providing access to finance throughout the project lifecycle – from development to operation and beyond – we aim to help realise the full potential of Namibia’s green hydrogen ambitions.
